The Swissmar replacement wire ordered for my Swissmar hand held cheese slicer did not fit

The Swissmar replacement wire ordered for my Swissmar hand held cheese slicer did not fit. The screw blocks at each ends of the wire were larger than the square holes in the slicer frame. I cannot understand how the same manufacturer sells replacement wires for their brand of cheese slicer that does not fit. My guess is, Swissmar changed the dimensions of the holes at some point and I have an older one? Not sure. But, I am very disappointed.
